A perfect match for the 8500C Purge & Trap concentrator with integrated software control. Product Features 110 Position Autosampler The autosampler comes with a high capacity of 110 positions for 40 ml VOC vials in one sample rack. Sample code is supported in the software. Internal Standard Addition CDS 8500A autosampler adopts a unique EPC controlled manifold to precisely inject a user-select volume (1/2/5/10/20/25μL) of internal standard into the sample from 4 channels. High Precision Syringe The 8500A autosampler uses a 25 mL high precision syringe to drive the sample flow, and delivers a variable sample volume from 0.1 mL to 25 ml with a use-select sample dilution ratios from 1:1/1:2/1:5/1:10/1:20/1:50/1:100, and up 400:1 for 25mL samples which supports the automated sample calibration. Dynamic Headspace The 8500A is equipped with a soil cup for dynamic headspace sampling in compliance with EPA 8260 soil samples. The max temperature is 150°C for routine Dynamic Headspace applications. Water Station The water sample and soil sample are using its dedicated sampling station and needle without worry of cross-contamination. Magnetic Stirrer The magnetic stirrer drives the magnetic bar in the soil vial based on EPA 5030 and 5035 sampling requirement for soil samples. PEEK Sample Pathway The chemically inert sample pathway guarantees the success of your purge and trap testing even with challenging liquid samples. Powerful PC Interface The PC software has a friendly interface to configure each run with programmable rinses, programmable blanks, internal standard addition, and water addition to soil sample. Soft Draw Gripper The highly versatile vial gripper has a 4 soft draws to offer the maximum compatibility and reliability to transport glass vials from various manufacturers. Precision Robotic Arm The position accuracy of the 3rd generation autosampler is 1 mm (X, Y and Z) 3D placement accuracy due to a high precision drive mechanism. The 8500A is pre-calibrated in the factory for easy installation. Methanol Extraction The 8500C autosampler has the capability to support methanol extraction to high concentration samples as well as offering methanol rinse to the liquid sample pathway. Build-in EPA Method The 8500 software controls both the 8500A autosampler and the 8500C concentrator. EPA method has been built in to jump start your sample runs. Parallel sample processing allows 96 samples to be extracted in approximately one hour. Each well of the plate contains the Empore particle-loaded membrane for efficient sample extraction followed by elution in as little as 100μL with mobile phase or mobile phase compatible solutions which can be injected directly onto chromatographic systems. Empore™ Well Plates are available in a standard well, 1.2 mL sample volume size. The plates are available with the following sorbent phases: URP (Universal Resin), C18, C8, MPC (Mixed Phase Cation). The C8 and C18 bonded silica sorbents combine good retention capacity with high recoveries. Both extraction methodologies specialize in extraction of semi-volatile organic compounds from liquid, semi-solid, and solid samples. SPE is an extraction method universally used across various industries, including environmental, food, proteomics, and biopharma industries. Among LTCDS’s instrument options, the automated SPE line features the SPE2000 and the AutoEmpore. The SPE2000 embodies a high sample throughput option for cartridge-based SPE making it perfect for applications in the environmental and food industries, including analysis of PFAS related components. On the other hand, the AutoEmpore accommodates both disk and cartridge-based SPE and is well-suited for large volume samples. In total, SPE is the extraction method of choice in more than 18 different US EPA methods. While LTCDS provides the automated instrumentation, LTCDS is also the manufacturer of the SPE consumables, including disks and cartridges, that can be used in combination with the instruments. In addition to the SPE instrumentation, LTCDS also provides automated HPSE solutions for solid and semi-solid samples that traditional SPE would not be able to process. HPSE applies both high pressure and high temperature to the sample in order to improve the extraction efficiency of semi-volatile components from samples in the environmental and food industries, including for PFAS. The LTCDS HPSE product line offers the capability to process between 2 and 6 samples in parallel. Between the SPE and HPSE products lines, LTCDS provides complete coverage for extraction of semi-volatile components from every type of sample matrices. Nitrogen concentrators accelerate the evaporation by decreasing the partial vapor pressure of the solvent just above the surface of the liquid. Blowdown evaporators use a jet of dry nitrogen to continually force off the layer of air that is saturated with vapor. By immediately removing molecules that enter the vapor state, the molecules do not have a chance to return to the liquid, which increases the evaporation rate. As said blowdown technique is very useful for small sample volumes because with larger samples nitrogen blowdown will take longer and semi-volatile compounds may be lost. Since the samples are immersed in a water bath, with programmable temperatures up to 100°C, the evaporation is further accelerated.
