- CDS Analytical | Products | Nitrogen Evaporator
Multi-channel and multi-functional parallel concentration instrument Home >> Products >> Nitrogen Concentrator Nitrogen Concentrators Family Brief Nitrogen concentrators are an alternative to rotary evaporation mainly in case of small volumes (under 50 mL) and a large quantity of samples. Nitrogen concentrators accelerate the evaporation by decreasing the partial vapor pressure of the solvent just above the surface of the liquid. Blowdown evaporators use a jet of dry nitrogen to continually force off the layer of air that is saturated with vapor. By immediately removing molecules that enter the vapor state, the molecules do not have a chance to return to the liquid, which increases the evaporation rate. As said blowdown technique is very useful for small sample volumes because with larger samples nitrogen blowdown will take longer and semi-volatile compounds may be lost. Since the samples are immersed in a water bath, with programmable temperatures up to 100°C, the evaporation is further accelerated. LabTech offers 2 fully automated nitrogen concentrator hosting different tube sizes to satisfy multiple applications. · The MV5 has 6 drying channels of 9 needles each for 54 samples of 10 mL · The M12 has 12 drying channels with individual needle for 12 samples from 50ml to 200 mL All LabTech products comply with the ISO procedures, to ensure they fully satisfy the quality standards and the needs of our customers. - Pyrolysis GC/MS for Microplastics, Polymers, and Materials Analysis | CDS Analytical
CDS Analytical provides advanced Pyrolysis GC/MS systems for microplastics, polymer characterization, additives analysis, and materials research applications. Home >> Products >> Pyrolysis Pyrolysis Pyrolysis is a thermal decomposition process of organic material at elevated temperatures in an anaerobic environment. It involves the cleavage of large complex molecules into smaller, more analytically useful fragments by the thermal energy. As an analogy, a Mass Spectrometer shatters compounds using electron impact, the compound is fragmented in a reproducible way, the ions are separated by the MS and the result is a spectrum which is both qualitative and quantitative. Pyrolysis works in much the same way. By applying heat to a sample that is comparable to the energy of specific bonds, the molecule will fragment in a reproducible way. The fragments are then separated by the analytical column to produce the chromatogram (pyrogram) which contains both qualitative and quantitative information. The number of peaks, the resolution by capillary GC, and the relative intensities of the peaks permit discrimination among many similar formulations, making pyrolysis a powerful tool in the identification of unknown samples. CDS Analytical released the first commercial analytical pyrolyzer (Model 100) in late 60s for Pyrolysis - Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (Py-GC-MS) and has been proudly making world class pyrolyzers for over 50 years. Our products have evolved through 6 generations and represent the industries highest standard. CDS pyrolyzers can be used in universities, forensic labs, labs, government settings, and more for all your polymer research needs. They are also compatible with all major brands of GC/MS including: Agilent, Bruker, Thermo, PerkinElmer, and Shimadzu. - Thermal Desorption GC/MS for VOC and SVOC Analysis | CDS Analytical
CDS Analytical thermal desorption systems provide automated VOC and SVOC analysis for air monitoring, environmental testing, and GC/MS workflows. Home >> Products >> Thermal Desorption Thermal Desorption Thermal desorption encompasses two primary functions: sample collection/concentration and transfer to a detector. The use of adsorbents and large sample volumes to collect vapor phase compounds, (such as VOC's in air or residual components from solids), facilitates accurate analysis even when sample levels are very low. Organics are concentrated on sorbent media while the sample matrix, air or water, is discarded. In much the same way as a vacuum cleaner filters dust from air as it sweeps over a surface, Dynatherm instruments capture compounds of interest on adsorbent material packed in glass cartridges. Collected compounds are then introduced into another analytical instrument, typically a gas chromatograph, where they are separated, measured, and identified as Thermal Desorption - Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (TD-GC-MS) Thermal desorption uses heat, (instead of solvent extraction), to release organic compounds from the adsorbent and transfer the entire collected sample to a gas chromatograph for analysis. This eliminates extraction time, (typically 12-24 hours), a solvent peak in the chromatogram (which can mask compounds of interest), and waste solvent disposal, an increasing expense in many labs. The process is flexible and convenient. For example, an investigator equipped with a battery-powered sampler can quickly collect liters of air on a sorbent tube and bring it to the lab for analysis. Alternatively, the thermal desorber/GC instruments can be mobilized for direct source sampling in the field. When samples are collected in areas of high humidity, two-stage sorbent trapping and thermal desorption effectively eliminate water interferences and enhance analysis of polar compounds in the sample stream. (Other collection techniques, such as canister sampling, must limit sampling volumes to control the amount of water transferred to the GC, which tends to lower sensitivity as well as restrict recovery of polar compounds.) 3M Empore Solid Phase Extraction Disk Home >> Products >> Empore >> Empore Disk Introduction Features Applications Parts & Options Downloads Empore Disk Product Introduction Product Introduction Specifications: Application: Brand: Filter Type: Formulation: Industries: Units per Case: Solid Phase Extraction Empore™ Extraction Disc Anion, C18 Sorbent Particles, C8 Sorbent Particles, Cation Exachange, Chelating, Filter + C18 Sorbent Particles, SDB-XC Sorbent Particles Life Sciences Environmental Basic Research 30, 60 Summary Fast flow rates and high throughput may be realized with use of an Empore solid phase extraction disk Effectively and efficiently extracts targeted analytes from complex sample matrices A range of available sorbents provide retention and selectivity properties that are unique for a particular analyte Proprietary process traps adsorbent particles into an inert PTFE matrix to create a mechanically stable sorbent disk Product Features We manufacture Empore™ discs to provide a large surface area for sorbent/sample contact during SPE. The cation exchange sorbent contains selectivity for cationic analytes, such as primary, secondary and tertiary amines. Fast flow rates along with high throughput may be realized with Empore solid phase extraction disks. The high density membranes are designed for maximum extraction efficiency with minimal elution volumes for samples that have less matrix interference. Empore™ Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) Disks give you an efficient alternative to liquid/liquid extraction for sample preparation. Our proprietary process is used to entrap adsorbent particles into a matrix of inert PTFE to create a mechanically stable sorbent disk. The disks can be used for purification and concentration of analytes from aqueous samples. Empore SPE disks provide a sample prep solution for large volume aqueous samples. Our unique disk format provides a large surface area for sorbent/sample contact and fast flow rates along with high throughput may be realized with Empore solid phase extraction disks. Empore™ Disk Technology Our disks are produced by trapping sorbent particles within an inert matrix of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The resulting particle-loaded membrane yields a denser, more uniform extraction bed than can be achieved with traditional loosely packed SPE particles. The result is improved mass transfer kinetics with consistent performance in solid phase extraction methods. The dense particle packing and uniform distribution within Empore disks offer outstanding sample preparation efficiency and reproducibility of results. Since the diffusion distance between particles is minimized, adsorption is more efficient, and extraction can be accomplished using low sorbent mass. The independent channels design ensures that each channel will not effect the others, preventing cross-contamination. Universal Compatibility The lure tip fitting at each extraction station make the EZ-Trace universally compatible. This is perfect for traditional SPE cartridges and the disk adapter assemblies included with the EZ-Trace. Easy Eluate and Waste Separation Each extraction station is equipped with a valve for easy switching between sample collection and waste removal. The flow can also be stopped with this valve to allow for solvent soaking steps. Simple Collection Design Each EZ-Trace unit comes with 4 standard 40mL collection vials and screw cap adapters. This simple design allows for easy setup and adaptive use of other types of collection vials. Precision Flow Control Equipped with a needle valve for both waste and elution flow, these valves allow for precision flow control. This feature makes the EZ-Trace perfect for both small and large volume samples. Separate Waste Collection This switching valve allows for separation of organic and aqueous waste streams. This environmentally friendly feature assists in proper disposal of each type of waste. Inert Sample Pathways Inert sample pathways made of PEEK, PTFE, and stainless steal prevent corrosion from organic solvents such as DCM. This extends the application range of the EZ-Trace and extends the lifetime of the parts. Easy Maintenance The simple flow design makes the EZ-Trace easy to maintain, clean, and replace components as needed. Clean Extracts Clean extracts are realized when using the EZ-Trace.
