Multi-channel and multi-functional parallel concentration instrument Home >> Products >> Nitrogen Concentrator Nitrogen Concentrators Family Brief Nitrogen concentrators are an alternative to rotary evaporation mainly in case of small volumes (under 50 mL) and a large quantity of samples. Nitrogen concentrators accelerate the evaporation by decreasing the partial vapor pressure of the solvent just above the surface of the liquid. Blowdown evaporators use a jet of dry nitrogen to continually force off the layer of air that is saturated with vapor. By immediately removing molecules that enter the vapor state, the molecules do not have a chance to return to the liquid, which increases the evaporation rate. As said blowdown technique is very useful for small sample volumes because with larger samples nitrogen blowdown will take longer and semi-volatile compounds may be lost. Since the samples are immersed in a water bath, with programmable temperatures up to 100°C, the evaporation is further accelerated. It transforms the horizontal sample loading probe used in traditional manual pyrolysis system to a convenient vertical loading system. The DISC saves your precious time by reducing the sample tube loading process. When used with the filler rod, the DISC helps to reduce sample preparation time by skipping the quartz wool insertion. The DISC chamber also isolates the pyrolysis sample tube from touching the platinum heating coil and can help to eliminate coil damages. Product Features CDS Resistively Heated Filament The DISC chamber adopts the same legendary CDS resistive heating coil to pyrolyze your sample with the lowest thermal mass and quickest temperature ramp up rate. - Thermal Desorption GC/MS for VOC and SVOC Analysis | CDS Analytical
CDS Analytical thermal desorption systems provide automated VOC and SVOC analysis for air monitoring, environmental testing, and GC/MS workflows. Home >> Products >> Thermal Desorption Thermal Desorption Thermal desorption encompasses two primary functions: sample collection/concentration and transfer to a detector. The use of adsorbents and large sample volumes to collect vapor phase compounds, (such as VOC's in air or residual components from solids), facilitates accurate analysis even when sample levels are very low. Organics are concentrated on sorbent media while the sample matrix, air or water, is discarded. In much the same way as a vacuum cleaner filters dust from air as it sweeps over a surface, Dynatherm instruments capture compounds of interest on adsorbent material packed in glass cartridges. Collected compounds are then introduced into another analytical instrument, typically a gas chromatograph, where they are separated, measured, and identified as Thermal Desorption - Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (TD-GC-MS) Thermal desorption uses heat, (instead of solvent extraction), to release organic compounds from the adsorbent and transfer the entire collected sample to a gas chromatograph for analysis. This eliminates extraction time, (typically 12-24 hours), a solvent peak in the chromatogram (which can mask compounds of interest), and waste solvent disposal, an increasing expense in many labs. The process is flexible and convenient. For example, an investigator equipped with a battery-powered sampler can quickly collect liters of air on a sorbent tube and bring it to the lab for analysis. Alternatively, the thermal desorber/GC instruments can be mobilized for direct source sampling in the field. When samples are collected in areas of high humidity, two-stage sorbent trapping and thermal desorption effectively eliminate water interferences and enhance analysis of polar compounds in the sample stream. (Other collection techniques, such as canister sampling, must limit sampling volumes to control the amount of water transferred to the GC, which tends to lower sensitivity as well as restrict recovery of polar compounds.) Product Features Versatile Configurations to Mainstream TD Tubes The CDS 9300 families could be configured to adopt 6mm x 4.5" CDS TD tube, 10mm x 4.5" CDS TD tube, 1/4" x 3.5" PE and Markes TD tube and VOST 16mm x 5" TD tube Cryogen Free with Pre-Desorb and Pre-Heat To improve the resolution of early eluting molecules, CDS uses pre-desorb and pre-heat technique to mechanically confine analytes in the focus tube until the desorption temperature is reached. Hand-Held Plug-in Control Interface This hand-held interface gives you easy access to the Thermal Desorption system without using a PC. This is an essential feature for mobile labs in field sampling and analysis.
