This system makes the loading of pyrolysis tubes a quick and trouble-free operation. Easy Sample Prep The DISC system is using a novel DISC tube to simplify the sample preparation process. No quartz wool is needed and the sample filling is as easy as dropping a straw into a drink. Unparalleled Reproducibility The DISC system brings an amazing 1.5% RSD for 5 run pyrolysis of Polystyrene at 600 °C by holding 0.1 °C temperature accuracy and calibrated temperature precision. Analytical Focus Trap with Pre-Heat and Pre-Desorb The 6200 Pyrolyzer has a built-in low thermal mass analytical focus trap with active cooling. This feature opens a new door for thermal extraction applications. The pre-desorb pre-heat function significantly improves the early eluting module compounds producing sharp peak shape. Superior Resolution The newly designed valve oven guarantees the sample path is evenly heated without cold spots. A heating temperature of 350 °C assures minimum carry over. Thermal Desorption and Dynamic Headspace With the optional Thermal Desorption Probe and Dynamic Headspace vessel, the CDS 6200 could be converted to a versatile thermal extraction system. Built-In Leak Check This feature allows you to carry out the pyrolysis studies with peace of mind. The self diagnosis capabilities to identify the leaking zones when attempting to trouble shoot the system. Remote GC Start The newly designed GC remote start board is capable to handle all GC start signals from any GC system in the world, including the newly released Agilent 7890 and Thermo 1310. Easy Maintenance The 6200 is designed with quick access panels for easy diagnosis and quick exchange of parts to minimize instrument downtime. Optional MFC The optional MFC provides a way to precisely introduce programmable amount of reactant gas (O2, N2, He, CO2, Air) into the pyrolysis chamber for kinectic studies. Versatile Accesories The 6200 comes with a Multi-Purpose Rail Mount (MPRM) to allow easy mounting of optional accessory modules, such as the Autosampler Module, Dynamic Headspace Module, Thermal Desorption Module, Manual Probe etc. Powerful Library The CDS library has 500+ industry standard polymers and 500+ polymer additives. The cation exchange sorbent contains selectivity for cationic analytes, such as primary, secondary and tertiary amines. Fast flow rates along with high throughput may be realized with Empore solid phase extraction disks. The high density membranes are designed for maximum extraction efficiency with minimal elution volumes for samples that have less matrix interference. Empore™ Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) Disks give you an efficient alternative to liquid/liquid extraction for sample preparation. Our proprietary process is used to entrap adsorbent particles into a matrix of inert PTFE to create a mechanically stable sorbent disk. The disks can be used for purification and concentration of analytes from aqueous samples. Empore SPE disks provide a sample prep solution for large volume aqueous samples. Our unique disk format provides a large surface area for sorbent/sample contact and fast flow rates along with high throughput may be realized with Empore solid phase extraction disks. Empore™ Disk Technology Our disks are produced by trapping sorbent particles within an inert matrix of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The resulting particle-loaded membrane yields a denser, more uniform extraction bed than can be achieved with traditional loosely packed SPE particles. The result is improved mass transfer kinetics with consistent performance in solid phase extraction methods. The dense particle packing and uniform distribution within Empore disks offer outstanding sample preparation efficiency and reproducibility of results. Since the diffusion distance between particles is minimized, adsorption is more efficient, and extraction can be accomplished using low sorbent mass. Home >> Products >> Purge & Trap Purge & Trap Gas chromatography is one of the fundamental analytical tools that compose the modern analytical lab, along with Mass Spectroscoy, Spectroscopy and Microscopy. However, like everything else, it does have several limitations, including lack of sensitivity, inability to tolerate water injections, and the sample must be in the vapor state. These limitations all come into play when studying aqueous samples in drinking and waste water and beverages. Purge and Trap, invented in the 60s in response to the Clean Water Act, is the most effective method to answer these challenges for extracting and concentrating volatile organic compounds (VOC) from liquids and solids. The Purge and Trap process involves purging the sample with an inert gas in a sealed environment (sparge vessle) at the appropriate temperature. The gas going through the sample will establish thermal equilibrium with VOCs in the sample, therefore transferring the VOCs from an aqueous state to a vapor. After eliminating the moisture through the wet trap, the gas is then swept to an analytical trap that absorbs and retains the VOCs , where they are transferred to the Gas Chromatograph for further analysis.
