CDS Analytical propvides Pyrolyzer for Pyrolysis - Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (Py-GC-MS) Home >> Products >> Pyrolysis Pyrolysis Pyrolysis is a thermal decomposition process of organic material at elevated temperatures in an anaerobic environment. It involves the cleavage of large complex molecules into smaller, more analytically useful fragments by the thermal energy. As an analogy, a Mass Spectrometer shatters compounds using electron impact, the compound is fragmented in a reproducible way, the ions are separated by the MS and the result is a spectrum which is both qualitative and quantitative. Pyrolysis works in much the same way. By applying heat to a sample that is comparable to the energy of specific bonds, the molecule will fragment in a reproducible way. The fragments are then separated by the analytical column to produce the chromatogram (pyrogram) which contains both qualitative and quantitative information. The number of peaks, the resolution by capillary GC, and the relative intensities of the peaks permit discrimination among many similar formulations, making pyrolysis a powerful tool in the identification of unknown samples. It features a hand-held controller for system maintenance and direct communication. With the highest programmable valve temperature on the market (350 °C), the 9350 can venture into applications where other systems can not perform, including VOCs, sVOCs, polar and nonpolar compounds. The two stage trapping and desorption process with Pre-desorb and Pre-heat feature eliminate the need of any Peltier cooling or liquid cryogen to improve the resolution for early eluting molecules. An optional heated sampling line is available. Product Features Versatile Configurations to Mainstream TD Tubes The CDS 9300 families could be configured to adopt 6mm x 4.5" CDS TD tube, 10mm x 4.5" CDS TD tube, 1/4" x 3.5" PE and Markes TD tube and VOST 16mm x 5" TD tube Cryogen Free with Pre-Desorb and Pre-Heat To improve the resolution of early eluting molecules, CDS uses pre-desorb and pre-heat technique to mechanically confine analytes in the focus tube until the desorption temperature is reached. Hand-Held Plug-in Control Interface This hand-held interface gives you easy access to the Thermal Desorption system without using a PC. This is an essential feature for mobile labs in field sampling and analysis. High Temperature Valve Oven at max 350 °C The high temperature oven (350 °C) significantly extends the analyte range from VOCs to sVOCs. Built Tough with Easy Maintenance The CDS 9300 is built tough on military standard. Routine maintenance only requires basic tools in accessing the components. Powerful Windows Based Software The software is Windows 10 compatible to give user full access to method editor and sequence table. Dual TD Tubes The 9350's thermal desorption chamber supports dual TD tubes for continuous sampling when one of the TD tube is desorbing.
