Vacuum Concentrators

Vacuum concentration is a form of solvent evaporation that often follows extraction-based sample preparation and is the final step in preparing the sample for analysis by either GC or LC. Vacuum concentrators accelerate the evaporation of solvent by subjecting the sample to vacuum pressures, surrounding of the sample by a heated water bath, and shaking the sample through translational movement of the concentrator stage. The application of each of those 3 features increases the efficiency of solvent evaporation making vacuum concentration and great alternative to nitrogen concentration in circumstances of high boiling point solvents or solvent volumes greater than 50 - 60mL.
