CETAC Technologies Announces Aquisition of CDS Analytical
Omaha, NE. November 29, 2010 - CETAC Technologies (CETAC), the worldwide leader in sample handling and sample introduction equipment for elemental analysis, announced today that it had acquired the operations of CDS Analytical, Inc. (CDS), a privately-owned manufacturer of front end laboratory instruments used for sample preparation. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
CDS, located in Oxford, Pennsylvania, is a leading manufacturer of Gas Chromatography (GC) injection systems. Although best known for its pyrolysis systems, CDS has a full offering of injection systems including thermal desorption, purge & trap and headspace. These products help to expand the traditional applicability of a GC platform by allowing solvent free analysis of organic solids, liquids and trace level volatile organic compounds in any matrix including air, water and solids. The company's products have gained a worldwide reputation for quality and critical performance in demanding applications.
Bill Ahern, CETAC's CEO, said, "CDS produces very high quality sample preparation instruments utilizing technologies that we currently do not possess. The company's products are also incorporated into analytical techniques that are new to us, such as GC and GCMS. We are very excited about being able to add CDS's products to our existing range of products so that we can offer more complete solutions to our customer's sample preparation requirements." Jeff Rosenbohm, CETAC's President, added "An important part of our growth strategy has been acquiring technologies that are complementary to our offerings. Although we have a few GC and GCMS customers using our automation products, the CDS product line will provide us with the technology needed to rapidly move forward into this market".
CETAC Technologies is located in Omaha, Nebraska. Additional information on CETAC and CDS can be found on their websites, www.cetac.com and www.cdsanalytical.com, respectively.
