Find Polymer Additives In Complex Sample Matrixes
With the vast array of polymer additives and the continual development of new ones, finding trace additives in an unknown polymer sample is becoming increasingly difficult. To help tackle this challenge, CDS Analytical, Inc. (www.cdsanalytical.com) has developed a search library containing hundreds of additives for use with the leading deconvolution software package from Ion Signature Technology (www.ionSignaturetech.com ).

When a sample is pyrolyzed in a CDS pyrolyzer, the Ion Signature deconvolution software will search the analytical results and identify additives that are stored in the CDS library. The combination of the Ion Signature software and the CDS library will allow the user to identify most commercially available additives down to the low PPM level. The Ion Signature software features a set of advanced deconvolution algorithms for precise, rapid compound identification and quantification. These accurate algorithms provide a one-of-a-kind "fingerprint" for all major GC/MS instruments. An exclusive set of proprietary algorithms identifies target compounds present even in difficult and complex mixtures. The software extracts each compound's characteristic signature, untangling it from the surrounding sample matrix.

The end result is that you get faster, more accurate data than ever possible before.

The Ion Signature software can run on most major GC/MS platforms and is available as a complete solution from CDS or just the library can be purchased for current Ion Signature users. New additives can be added by the user or regular updates are available from CDS. The current version contains many additives not found in the standard NIST or Wiley MS libraries.

Dynatherm TDA-9300 Thermal Desorption Autosampler

CDS Analytical, Inc. has added dynamic headspace, sample saving and optional peltier cooling capabilities to their TDA 9300 thermal desorption autosampler. This unique autosampler is able to handle tubes from 3” to 7 1/2” long and with ODs of 3mm to 16mm. The samples can also be split and recollected for additional analysis or archiving. The newly introduced optional headspace station allows for dynamic headspace analysis in a 10 ml culture tube on the same unit that is running thermal desorption tubes. The unit features computer control, automatic leak checking, rapid heat rates, and interchangeable stations providing the most flexibility on the market.

CDS Analytical, Inc. Announces Direct Sale of the CDS 7000 Purge & Trap

After several years of private label manufacturing, CDS Analytical, Inc. is pleased to announce sale of the CDS 7000 Purge & Trap instrument on a direct basis. Our Purge and Trap has long been known for the: lowest cost of ownership, best chromatographic resolution in the industry, integrated GC and on-trap injection ports, first patented foam sensor, full length wet trap for moisture control and original exchangeable sample pneumatics system. Now CDS has expanded the capabilities by adding an electronic flow control option. Users can now individually control purge and GC flows during the purge, trap dry, desorb and bake cycles. This can decrease cycle time, allowing you to run more samples per instrument.
